A classical dress watch that doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone.
The Quai des Bergues Havana Brown is Czapek’s most traditional expression of modern independent watchmaking, where symmetry, proportion and legibility take precedence over trend. Since its revival in 2015, the Maison has built a reputation for reviving classical codes with contemporary restraint rather than recreating them verbatim.
The hand-wound in-house movement is visible through the sapphire case back, finished with the same attention to detail as the dial side, reinforcing Czapek’s commitment to full architectural transparency. The warm Havana Brown dial, Roman numerals and dual-time display create a balanced composition that feels both historic and deliberately modern.
We carry it for clients who appreciate true dress watchmaking—but want it interpreted through the lens of a modern independent atelier rather than heritage reproduction.

A hand-wound calibre built on classical architecture and modern precision.
The SXH1 is Czapek’s proprietary manually wound movement, developed in collaboration with Chronode in Le Locle and created specifically for the Quai des Bergues collection. It features a twin-barrel construction delivering approximately 7 days of power reserve, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), and is designed according to traditional Swiss chronometry principles.
An annular balance with variable inertia weights and a Breguet overcoil ensures stability and precision, while the skeletonised balance cock enhances visual transparency across the movement. Its architecture remains symmetrically laid out, with fine sandblasted finishing inspired by 19th-century “satiné frost” techniques, reinterpreted for a contemporary aesthetic.
Servicing is handled directly through our relationship with Czapek in Geneva, where each movement is fully inspected and returned. Turnaround is typically six to eight weeks, and we can provide a loan watch during service if required.

A relationship, not a transaction.
Every watch we sell stays close to us. We organise servicing, source straps, and answer the telephone ourselves — for as long as the watch is yours, and the wrist after that.
When the time comes, we arrange the full service through Czapek and handle the shipping both ways.
Replacement straps and bracelets at cost, in any material the manufacture offers, fitted in person at the bench.
You speak to Jason — for a warranty question, a service interval, or simply a second opinion — for as long as you own the watch.
Hold it once. Turn it over.
A watch makes more sense in the hand than on a screen — particularly through the sapphire back. Book a viewing at 900 West Hastings St., Vancouver and we will put a loupe in your hand.
