Mentorship and guidance for young men
The East End Boys Club Society works primarily with marginalized/ at-risk youth between the ages of 13 - 19. They have an Alumni Group who continues to participate in weekly meetings and provides mentorship to younger members.
EEBC was established with a goal to provide life-skills training, socio-emotional support, and post-secondary guidance to pursue higher education in both academic and trades skills. The EEBC also provides a variety of bursaries and scholarships to qualified members. EEBC members further learn from guest speakers, mentors and donors, who share their stories of adversity and resilience, and who help mentor our youth to become people of integrity.
Today’s youth surrounded by temptations of street and gang life, coupled with the lack of a support system for many, are meant to face issues with addiction, mental health and poor life choices which can present innumerable roadblocks. Developing strong, empathetic, compassionate young men, being the core motto, EEBC plays a pivotal role in the lives of such boys who lack either parental guidance or right mentors and help them learn the vital skills to not only lead a fulfilling life but also appreciate and engage with art and culture, in effect, becoming lifelong learners.
Palladio’s association with East End Boys Club
Our connection with EEBC goes back to the times when the Bosa family was living in North Burnaby and, as young boys, were attending schools in the community that the EEBC now serves. The memories and impact of growing up with this peer group were huge and that’s how they thought to give back to the community which provided so much to them.
When Mr. Jimmy Crescenzo, founder of the EEBC, reached out and proposed a partnership, the request was met with enthusiasm and excitement for the opportunity to help these children in their formative years. This is how our journey with East End Boys Club started and ever since we have been proud to be able to support these young men who seek mentorship and positive guidance to keep motivated and stay focused to become the best version of themselves. We believe, by addressing their needs proactively, we can make a meaningful impact on their lives and contribute to the overall well-being of our community.
