The Curation — Vol. 27 · No. 02

Independent watchmaking. Chosen with intention.

Every watchmaker represented at Palladio has earned its place through exceptional craftsmanship, independence, and a distinct philosophy of making. These are maisons where the people shaping the watches remain close to the work itself.

Our collection is deliberately selective. Rather than offering every name, we choose only those we believe deserve a place in a discerning collector's journey. Every watch we present is one we would confidently recommend, not because it is sought after, but because it is worthy.

Why we curate

Every maison is held to the same standard.

Test i.
Would we choose it without the name? A watch should earn admiration through its design, engineering, and craftsmanship before its logo.
Test ii.
Does the movement deserve to be seen? The work beneath the case-back should be as considered as the dial above it. We believe the unseen matters just as much.
Test iii.
Will it still matter in a generation? We favour watches with lasting character over passing recognition — pieces designed to be worn, collected, and handed on.

Czapek & Cie.

When someone asks us for the finest integrated-bracelet sports watch they may never have considered, this is where we begin.
Czapek creates watches for collectors who value craftsmanship over familiarity. The Antarctique combines exceptional movement finishing, remarkable comfort, and thoughtful design in a way that feels quietly confident rather than attention-seeking. It is one of those rare watches that becomes more impressive the longer you own it.

Moritz Grossmann

Some of the finest hands in watchmaking. Quite literally.
Few watchmakers still produce steel hands this way — formed by hand, polished to perfection, then flame-blued until they reach their unmistakable purplish hue. It is one of the signatures of Moritz Grossmann and a reflection of the uncompromising standards that continue to define Glashütte’s finest watchmaking.

Parmigiani Fleurier

Quiet enough to be overlooked. Good enough never to be forgotten. Timepieces that rarely ask for attention.
Michel Parmigiani spent decades restoring the masterpieces of watchmaking before creating his own. That experience shaped a maison defined by proportion, restraint, and exceptional finishing. The Tonda PF is one of the purest expressions of contemporary luxury watchmaking — and one of the watches we recommend most often to collectors who value quiet confidence over recognition.

Raymond Weil

A first Swiss mechanical watch should still be a Swiss mechanical watch.
Family-owned for more than fifty years, Raymond Weil represents continuity in Swiss watchmaking. It is independent, consistent, and grounded in traditional mechanical production. We carry it because it allows us to place a genuinely Swiss mechanical watch on a wrist at an accessible level — often the first step into horology, and one that should be done properly.
