U-Boat is candid that its watches are made to be seen. From Lucca, since 2000, Italo Fontana has drawn on a 1940s family design lineage to build Italian pieces of real presence. A small share of our clients want exactly that, and we carry the house so we can answer them with conviction rather than steer them toward restraint.
The Sommerso DLC takes the dive watch in a sharper direction, a steel case under an ultra-resistant Diamond-Like Carbon coating, with a rotating bezel and 300 metres of water resistance. The DLC draws the whole watch into one hard, dark tone. A diver with classic lines and a tougher skin.
Hand-finished, made to be serviced.
Hand-assembled, regulated, and finished to the manufacture’s own standard.
Servicing is organised through us and the manufacture, and the watch comes back to your wrist — with a loaner in the meantime.

Every watch we sell stays close to us. We organise servicing, source straps, and answer the telephone ourselves — for as long as the watch is yours, and the wrist after that.
When the time comes, we arrange the full service through U-Boat, handle the shipping both ways, and put a loaner on your wrist while you wait.
Replacement straps and bracelets at cost, in any material the manufacture offers, fitted in person at the bench.
You speak to Jason — for a warranty question, a service interval, or simply a second opinion — for as long as you own the watch.
When your watch is at service we will put another independent on your wrist, so the wrist is never empty.
