Italo Fontana founded U-Boat in Lucca in 2000 and kept it oversized, Italian and unapologetic, working from a family design heritage of the 1940s. A small portion of our clients want a wrist that speaks first, and we hold a few U-Boat pieces so we can answer that with conviction rather than talk them into something more demure.
The Sommerso 46mm Damascus Left reimagines the diver in Damascus steel, its flowing grain softening the austere, technical spirit of a dive watch. A three-level black dial carries beige Super-LumiNova hands, brushed indices, a date window and a 24-hour counter; the Swiss Sellita SW200 and a large crown protector hold 300 metres. Elegance and depth-rating, kept on the left crown.

Servicing is organised through us and the manufacture, and the watch comes back to your wrist — with a loaner in the meantime.

Every watch we sell stays close to us. We organise servicing, source straps, and answer the telephone ourselves — for as long as the watch is yours, and the wrist after that.
When the time comes, we arrange the full service through U-Boat, handle the shipping both ways, and put a loaner on your wrist while you wait.
Replacement straps and bracelets at cost, in any material the manufacture offers, fitted in person at the bench.
You speak to Jason — for a warranty question, a service interval, or simply a second opinion — for as long as you own the watch.
When your watch is at service we will put another independent on your wrist, so the wrist is never empty.
